Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced on Twitter that the new Ola MoveOS 3 will be rolling out to everyone next week. The beta version of the OS was made available to users in October and further rollout is currently on schedule. In his announcement tweet, Bhavish mentioned that the new MoveOS 3 will come with major features and big performance improvements.

The biggest feature of the Ola MoveOS 3 is the introduction of fast charging. Ola also plans to install 50 Hyperchargers across the country. With the MoveOS 3, Ola users can charge their scooters to provide 50 km of range in just 15 minutes of charge. The OTA software also comes equipped with three ‘moods’ – Bold, Vintage, and Eclipse. These three moods act as the theme layout for the TFT screen and come in different colours. The interface sounds also change with every mood. There’s also a new ‘Party’ mode on the MoveOS 3 update, which syncs the headlights of the S1 scooter to the song you’re playing.
Another new feature on the MoveOS 3 is ‘profile sharing.’ With profile sharing, Ola users can share their scooter with another user without sharing their password. Since Ola Scooters do not use a physical key, sharing your ride with another person meant sharing your password with them. Now, users can share their scooters without having to give out their passwords. With ‘proximity unlock’ riders do not need to enter the password to unlock the scooter. The new software will sense the rider approaching and will sync with the smartphone app to unlock the scooter automatically.
Ola MoveOS 3 also offers hill-hold assist, which lets the scooter stay stationary on sloped terrain. On top of that, it also gets three levels of regenerative braking which uses the energy amassed while braking to charge the battery. Ola has also improved the acceleration of the scooters in Sports Mode and Hyper Mode and also introduced a new ‘Vacation Mode’ which preserves the scooter’s battery if you don’t intend to use it for a long period of time.
