Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq
Mahindra is preparing a new EV for its Born Electric series. The Mahindra BE 7 has been spotted testing on numerous occasions, but its newly surfaced spy shots give a closer look at the EV than the previous ones. Snapped at a charging station in Karnataka, the most recent test mule was covered in a decal-like white-and-violet camouflage.

The upcoming BE 7 is visibly larger than the BE 6 – Mahindra’s only offering in its Born Electric series as of now. Its front fascia has the same C-shaped LED DRLs as its BE sibling. The tail lamps follow the same design language. The SUV has an angular look to it, which seems to be the look that will be consistent throughout the series.
There are major changes along the sides, as the BE 7 ups its game with frameless doors. While their working mechanism is not yet known, the windows will likely wind up and down automatically to facilitate the opening and closing of the doors. The flush-sitting door handles pop out automatically. At the back, the tailgate has a clamshell form factor. The washer and wiper are mounted on the spoiler.
The interior of the production-spec BE 7 will mimic its prototype. Unlike the BE 6, it will not get a halo loop to separate the driver’s cockpit. As a result, there will be more space for the centre console. This is something we saw on the BE 6 Sporteq as well. Not much is known about the instrumentation of the upcoming EV so far. It will likely get the triple 12.3-inch display setup from the BE 6 Sporteq and XEV 9e. Other features like ventilated seating, powered front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS, and a 16-speaker system from Harman are expected to make the cut.
The Mahindra BE 7 will carry forward the mechanical specs of the other Electric Origin SUVs in the automaker’s portfolio. It will come in 3 battery pack options – 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh. The 59kWh pack can go up to 648km on a full charge. The 70kWh battery offers a driving range of 651km. Meanwhile, the 79kWh battery pack can go on for 683km before it runs out of juice. These battery variants generate a maximum power output of 231hp, 245hp, and 286hp, respectively. Their torque is fixed at 380Nm.
