Kia Seltos facelift to come with dual-zone climate control

The new Kia Seltos facelift is confirmed to launch in India on July 4. Launched globally last year, the full specifications of the India-spec version of the SUV have not been confirmed yet. The midsize SUV was spied testing on Indian roads recently. This is the first time that the Seltos has been spotted in India, and we finally may have some details about its interior.

Kia Seltos facelift: Here’s what you need to know

The new Kia Seltos facelift will get a new HVAC unit with media controls. Physical buttons for media controls are a new addition to the Seltos as the outgoing model has integrated touch controls for media. This unit will also feature a temperature display. The hazard switch also gets a design tweak and is positioned between the AC vents. The new spy shots also confirm the presence of dual-zone automatic control, making Seltos the first midsize SUV in India to offer that feature.

The Kia Seltos facelift will also get a new 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof. The midsize SUV will get an ADAS package as well, bringing it on par with the other SUVs in its segment. The Seltos will be the first Kia offering in India to come with an ADAS package.

In terms of cosmetic changes, the Kia Seltos facelift will get a new bumper with an aluminium skid plate. The position for the fog housings has been changed as well. The LED headlamps and DRLs get a fresh new design on the facelift. The profile of the SUV remains the same as the outgoing model apart from a new design for the alloy wheels. At the back, the Seltos facelift gets sleeker tail lamps which are now connected by an LED light bar.

Under the hood, the Kia Seltos facelift will feature the same engine, with no changes whatsoever. It will be continued in the previous 3 variants – the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.4L turbo petrol motor, and 1.5L diesel engine. Transmission options will remain the same as well – with a 6-speed MT, 6-speed torque converter, and a 7-speed DCT automatic on offer.

As mentioned earlier, the new Kia Seltos facelift will be unveiled in India on July 4. Prices for the SUV will be revealed following its debut. Upon launch, the Kia Seltos facelift will rival Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Citroen C3 Aircross, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder.
