BMW has introduced the BMW M8 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition in India at the price of Rs 2.55 crore. This launch is a part of BMW’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of its M Division. BMW plans on launching three more 50 Jahre editions. The BMW M8 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition does not receive a price hike but gets several cosmetic updates.

BMW M8 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition: What’s new?
The BMW M8 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition gets a new gloss black kidney grille, 20-inch black alloy wheels with red brake callipers, and an M Sport exhaust unit. It also gets an ‘M carbon exterior’ package, which offers a carbon-fibre finished front bumper, side air intake, exterior mirror caps, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. On top of that, the special edition will receive exclusive M badges along the body. It will be made available in four new colours that will be exclusive to the special edition: Daytona Beach Blue, Frozen Brilliant White, Frozen Marina Bay Blue, Frozen Deep Green, and Frozen Deep Grey.
Inside, there are a few limited updates to the BMW M8, as it gets a leather merino upholstery, M seat belts, and an Alcantara Anthracite headliner. It will retain the 12.3-inch infotainment system, ambient lighting, Harmon Kardon sound system, and Apple CarPlay connectivity.Â
Under the hood, the BMW M8 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition remains unchanged. It carries forward the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a maximum power of 625hp and 750Nm peak torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. With these mechanical specs, the M8 can go from 0-100kmph in just 3.2 seconds. The M8 gets an All Wheel Drive and three drive modes – Comfort, Sport, and Sport+.

The BMW M8 Competition 50 Jahre Edition is the seventh BMW 50-year limited edition. Previously, BMW had released M340i, 630i M Sport, 530i M Sport, M4 Competition, X7 40i M Sport, and X4 M Sport. Three more 50-year limited editions are lined up for release. At Rs 2.55 crore, the BMW M8 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition is the most expensive special edition from the German automaker.
