Triumph Speed Twin 900, Scrambler 900 launched in India

Triumph India has launched Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900, which are essentially rebadged versions of the Speed Twin and Scrambler. Since there are no mechanical changes or any design tweaks, Triumph India has not changed the price of the two motorbikes. Prices for Speed Twin 900 start at Rs 8.35 lakh, and the Scrambler 900 at Rs 9.45 lakh.

Speed Twin 900, Scrambler 900: What’s New?

While there are no changes to the mechanical core, the Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 are offered in two new colour schemes and receive new badging on the side. The Speed Twin 900 is now available in the new Matt Silver Ice colour option, along with Jet Black and Matt Ironstone. The Scrambler 900 is now also available in Carnival Red/Jet Black along with Matt Khaki and Jet Black. The prices for all colour variants are listed below.

Speed Twin 900 Jet Black: Rs 8.35 lakh

Speed Twin 900 Matt Ironstone: Rs 8.48 lakh

Speed Twin 900 Matt Silver Ice (new): Rs 8.48 lakh

Scrambler 900 Jet Black: Rs 9.45 lakh

Scrambler 900 Matt Khaki: Rs 9.58 lakh

Scrambler 900 Carnival Red/Jet Black (new): Rs 9.75 lakh

The engine on both bikes is the same as their outgoing counterparts. Both bikes are powered by the same 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that can generate a maximum power of 64hp and 80Nm torque. The engines on both bikes are mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The breaking units are the same on both bikes as well with a 310m disc brake at the front and 255mm disc brake at the rear. Both bikes have the same fuel tank capacity of 12 litres.

The main difference between the two bikes boils down to their wheels. The Speed Twin 900 receives a cast alloy wheelset with a 100/90-18 wheel at the front and a 150/70-R17 wheel at the rear. The Scrambler 900 gets a spoked rim wheelset with a 100/90-19 wheel at the front and a 150/70-R17 wheel at the rear.

With both bikes priced between Rs8-19 lakh, the Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 rival Ducati Scrambler 800, Indian Scout Sixty, Kawasaki Z900, and Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled.
