Tata Sierra crosses 1 lakh bookings, production increased

Tata Sierra has garnered over 1 lakh bookings since its launch in November 2025. Bookings for the SUV were opened in December 2025. On the first day of opening the booking window, Tata received over 70,000 bookings for the Sierra. The demand remained consistent, as the automaker received 30,000 more bookings in the following 2 months. Currently, buyers face waiting periods of up to 4 months for the SUV.

Tata Sierra: An instant success

With rising demand, Tata Sierra is demanding waiting periods of up to 4 months, depending on the variant. Over 14,000 deliveries have been met so far. The automaker has confirmed that it will increase the SUV’s production numbers to meet the heavy demand. It plans to reach a monthly production output of 15,000 units. 12,000 of these units will be the ICE Sierra. The remaining 3,000 units will belong to the upcoming all-electric model.

Tata Sierra comes in 7 trim levels – Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+. Buyers can choose from 3 engine options – 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated ‘Revotron’ petrol engine, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TGDI ‘Hyperion’ petrol engine, and 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, ‘Kryojet’ diesel engine.

The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated ‘Revotron’ petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 105hp @ 6,000rpm and 145Nm torque @ 2,100rpm. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TGDI ‘Hyperion’ petrol engine makes its debut on the Sierra. It produces a maximum power output of 158hp @ 5,000rpm and 255Nm torque @ 1,750-4,000rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Lastly, the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, ‘Kryojet’ diesel engine is available with all seven trims of the SUV. It generates a maximum power output of 116hp @ 4,000rpm. With a 6-speed manual transmission, it produces 260Nm torque @ 1,500-2,750rpm. This output increases to 280Nm when the engine is linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The Sierra is decked with premium features. It flaunts a 12.3-inch central touchscreen infotainment system and another similarly sized entertainment display for the passenger. The driver’s cockpit gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. There is support for wireless headphones, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Other features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone air conditioning, a 6-way powered driver’s seat with memory, thigh support extender, ambient lighting, a head-up display, an air purifier with AQI display, an illuminated cooled glovebox, wireless charging, and more.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Sierra start at Rs 11.49 lakh and go up to Rs 21.29 lakh. Its all-electric version is set to launch in India this summer. The SUV rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Grand VitaraHyundai CretaToyota Urban Cruiser HyRyderKia SeltosSkoda Kushaq, and MG Hector in India.
