Ducati has finally launched its much-awaited 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 in the country. The adventure tourer motorbike made its global debut in September last year. Now it takes over the baton from the outgoing Multistrada 950, which was available in a sole ‘S’ variant in India. The all-new 2022 Multistrada V2 is about Rs 1 lakhs more expensive than the former. It comes with a series of upgrades over its predecessor.Â

The 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 offers 2 variants to the Indian markets, a standard and an S variant. It comes with an updated colour palette, offering the ‘Ducati Red’ colour with black rims as standard for both the trims. Its top-spec S-variant also gets an additional colour option of ‘Street Grey’ with a black frame and red wheel rims, available through special order only. Moreover, the adventure motorbike comes with a new clutch and a revised gearbox, lighter mirror, engine and wheels resulting in a 5kg reduction in its weight. The shape of its seat has also been modified and reduced to 830mm, giving the feet easier access to the ground. Â
Coming to the 2022 Multistrada V2 specs of its hardware, it is underpinned by the same trellis frame with a double-sided identical swingarm. In its standard variant, the frame sits on a 48mm diameter upside-down fork at the front and mono-shock at the rear. The Multistrada V2 S variant receives the Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system. The ADV comes equipped with traction control, cornering ABS, hill hold assist, an LCD digital instrument console along with 4 riding modes namely Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro. The S variant comes with additional pieces of equipment such as a 5.0-inch TFT dashboard, cruise control, a bidirectional quick-shifter and much more.Â

Speaking of its powertrain options, the 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 is powered by an upgraded 937cc Ducati Testastretta twin-cylinder unit with a Desmodromic distribution. It delivers an output of 113hp at 9,000rpm and 96Nm at 6,750rpm. Its engine comes with a redesigned cover while inside the motor come restyled connecting rods. The suspension, brakes and electronic equipment remain unchanged in the ADV. The motorbike comes with a 6-speed transmission.
 The 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 price in India starts from Rs 14.65 lakhs for its standard trim and Rs 16.65 lakhs for its top-spec S-trim.Â
