Toyota Glanza CNG launched at Rs 8.43 lakh: Here are all the details

Toyota Kirloskar Motors has officially launched the Toyota Glanza CNG in India at a starting price of Rs 8.43 lakh. Rumours around the launch of the Glanza CNG surfaced earlier this year and then later in September when a Type Approval Certificate issued by Delhi RTO was leaked online. The CNG version of the Toyota Glanza will be made available for the S and G trims only. The S trim costs Rs 8.43 while the G trim will fetch Rs 9.46 lakh. Both trims are priced Rs 95,000 higher than their petrol counterparts.

Toyota Glanza CNG: Everything you need to know

Powering the Toyota Glanza CNG is the same 1.2-litre K Series engine that is found in the petrol lineup. Maruti Suzuki Baleno is powered by this unit as well. In a CNG configuration, this engine produces a maximum power output of 77hp and 98.5Nm peak torque. In comparison, the petrol unit generates a maximum power of 90hp and 113Nm torque. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 30.61km/kg on the Glanza CNG.

There aren’t any cosmetic changes on the Glanza CNG except the CNG branding on the tailgate. However, the CNG version weighs 48kg more than the petrol variant. With a 55-litre CNG tank in the boot, the storage capacity is limited as well.

The Toyota Glanza CNG will be equipped with the same features and instruments as its petrol-fuelled sibling. This includes a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, a Heads-Up display and more. It will also come with Toyota’s i-Connected platform, which offers additional connected car tech options like remote access and control, find my car, tow alert, geo-fencing, and more. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, a speed alert system, an automatic door lock, parking sensors, hill assist, and more.

Conclusion

The only direct rival to the Toyota Glanza CNG is the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG. The latter was launched at a starting price of Rs 8.28 lakh. Baleno and Glanza also share the same CNG kit. The Glanza CNG will also rival Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno (petrol), Hyundai i20, and Honda Jazz.
