Ola S1 and S1 Pro get a price hike of up to Rs 15,000

Prices for Ola S1 and S1 Pro have been increased by up to Rs 15,000 due to the slashing of FAME-II subsidies. Ola Electric is not the only automaker to implement the price hike. EV start-ups like Matter and Ather Energy have also hiked the prices of their electric offerings. Interestingly, Ola has retained the price of its affordable new offering, S1 Air.

Ola S1 and S1 Pro: New prices revealed

Ola recently reshuffled its electric scooter lineup and added new variants to S1 and S1 Air. Ola S1 received a new 2kWh battery variant, priced at Rs 99,999. The automaker has not mentioned the revised pricing for this variant. The standard 3kWh battery variant of the S1 gets a hike of Rs 15,000, bringing its price from Rs 1.15 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh. Both variants are powered by the same 8.5 kW motor but the 3kWh variant offers a 141km driving range in comparison to the entry-level variant’s 91km.

The flagship Ola S1 Pro also gets a hike of Rs 15,000, bringing its price from Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.40 lakh. The S1 Pro comes with a 4kWh battery pack that offers a driving range of 181km. The top speed for the S1 Pro has been capped at 116kmph. The flagship scooter does not have any other variants.

No changes have been made to the price of Ola S1 Air. The scooter is available in three battery pack variants – 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh. The 2kWh variant of the Ola S1 Air offers a driving range of 85km while the 3kWh and 4kWh are good for 125km and 165km respectively. All three variants are powered by the same 4.5kW motor with their top speeds capped at 85kmph. The entry-level 2kWh S1 Air is priced at Rs 84,999 while the mid and top-spec variants cost Rs 99,999 and Rs 1.10 lakh respectively.

Conclusion

Ola will begin delivering the S1 Air next month. At the time of the announcement, the scooter was offered in a single 2.5 kWh battery pack variant. Since the reshuffle of the lineup, Ola has upgraded the 2.5kWh bookings to the 3kWh battery pack. Ola S1 Air will rival the recently announced Ather 450S.
