Hyundai Exter: What to expect?
Hyundai’s micro SUV has been in the works for quite some time now. The first spy shots of the Exter emerged last year in December. The SUV was spotted at a parking section in South Korea. The Exter was heavily camouflaged at the time. As we get closer to the launch date, Hyundai has fully unveiled the exterior design of the SUV.
The latest teaser drop by Hyundai gives a complete look at the Exter’s rear design. The SUV retains its boxiness and upright posture at the back too. Connecting the two tail lamps is a textured black panel. A skid plate can be found at the rear as well. The tail lamps get the ‘H’ design, similar to the DRLs up front.Â
Hyundai Exter will be made available in five trims – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. The SUV will get six airbags as standard across all variants. It also gets an integrated dashcam and a reverse camera. Other safety features include Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control, headlamp escort, ISOFIX, auto headlamps, rear defogger, and more. Hyundai has also confirmed an electric sunroof for the Exter.
Under the hood, the Exter gets a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine also powers other Hyundai offerings like Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, and Venue. It can produce a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
