No cosmetic changes have been made to the entry-level variant of the Toyota Rumion. Its design doesn’t stray too far from that of its Maruti cousin, Eriga. The Rumion distinguishes itself with a bold front grille inspired by the Innova Crysta, unique fog lamp housings, and a different look for its alloy wheels.
The entry-level E trim features projector halogen headlamps, LED taillights, and power windows. Inside, it misses out on a touchscreen infotainment system, an audio setup, an IVRM, and rear AC vents. The S trim has all of these features. The base variant does get safety features like 6 airbags, Hill Hold Assist, and rear parking sensors. The higher variants come with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, connected car tech, a digital MID, an analogue instrument cluster, and an automatic AC unit.
Things remain the same under the hood, as the E variant of the Toyota Rumion is powered by the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine also powers the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It can produce a maximum power output of 103hp and 137Nm of torque. The E variant can only be paired with a 5-speed manual. The S, G, and V variants can also be mated to a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. The CNG powertrain, available on the S variant, generates a maximum power output of 88hp and 121.5Nm of torque. It has a fuel efficiency of 26.11 km/kg. The petrol variant offers a mileage of 20.51 km/l.
