Toyota Innova Crysta Diesel relaunched at Rs 19.13 lakh

The diesel engine variant of Toyota Innova Crysta makes a surprise return to the MPV’s lineup after it was discontinued last year. In January, the automaker announced that it will be offering the diesel powertrain for its highest-selling MPV. Now the Toyota Innova Crysta has been relaunched at a starting price of Rs 19.13 lakh. Bookings for the MPV are currently open. Prices for the GX trim go up to Rs 20.09. Toyota is yet to announce prices for the top-spec ZX trim.

Toyota Innova Crysta: Everything you need to know

While the biggest change on Innova Crysta is the reintroduction of the diesel powertrain, that is not where all the updates end. The new Toyota Innova Crysta gets a few tweaks on the front end. It now comes with a smaller grille and a new bumper design. The housing for fog lamps has been changed as well. The MPV remains unchanged along the sides and at the rear.

The Innova Crysta is available in 7 and 8-seat configurations. In terms of features, the MPV gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, a powered driver seat, picnic tables for the middle row, climate control, and more. In terms of safety features, Toyota Innova Crysta gets seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with EBD, Hill-Start Assist, Brake Assist, and more. Three-point seatbelts for all passengers come as standard across all variants.

Under the hood, the 2.4-litre diesel engine produces the maximum power output of 148hp and 343Nm peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. There is no option for an automatic transmission on the Crysta.

Toyota Innova Crysta will be sold alongside the HyCross. Currently, prices for Toyota Innova HyCross start at Rs 18.30 lakh and go up to Rs 28.97 lakh. Bookings for Toyota Innova Crysta are currently open. The MPV rivals the likes of Tata Safari, Kia Carnival, and Mahindra XUV700.
