Jeep Meridian gets an 85th Anniversary Edition priced at Rs 36.05 lakh

Jeep Meridian has received a special edition model to commemorate the automaker’s 85th anniversary. Only 85 units of the Meridian’s 85th Anniversary Edition are up for grabs in India. It is based on the top-spec Overland trim and fetches Rs 36.05 lakh. The limited edition model gets some cosmetic highlights and feature additions. The booking window for the SUV is currently open.

Jeep Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition: What’s on offer?

When it comes to cosmetic updates, the special edition Meridian gets ‘85 Meridian’ decals along its front doors and tailgate. The ‘85’ branding has been extended to the logo on the wheel caps. The 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in gloss black. There are 5 colour options on offer – Brilliant Black, Velvet Red, Pearl White, Techno Metallic Green, and Grigio Magnesio Grey.

The 85th Anniversary Edition gets an all-black cabin with Mayan Gold accents and contrast detailing. Jeep is also offering 85th Anniversary AXS Packages for the SUV. These packages include add-ons like carpet floor mats, anniversary decal kits, ambient lighting, and Sky Lounge sunroof illumination.

On the feature front, the limited edition gets Stellantis’ Cara AI assistant, which made its debut on the Citroen Basalt in India. This AI assistant enables natural conversations between the owners and their vehicles. With support for 52 languages (including Indian languages), this voice assistant can help the user with functions like navigation, reminders, weather information, calls, music, general knowledge queries and selected vehicle-related functions through simple voice commands.

Things remain the same under the hood, as the Jeep Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition continues to be powered by the 2-litre diesel engine that powers the standard model. This engine generates a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. There are 4×2 and 4×4 configurations on offer.

Final Thoughts

The special edition Meridian is priced the same as the Overland trim. Jeep has added the Cara AI assistant to the Limited (O) trim and hiked its prices by Rs 45,000. It now costs Rs 30.45 lakh. The SUV rivals the Toyota FortunerMG GlosterSkoda KodiaqHyundai Tucson, and Nissan X-Trail in India.
