Nissan has taken the wraps off the fourth-generation X-Trail ahead of its launch in India next month. The SUV will arrive in India as a CBU import. It is scheduled to launch on August 1. Nissan’s catalogue in India currently only comprises the Magnite compact SUV. The automaker will launch another mainstream SUV in India next year.

Nissan X-Trail: What to expect?

The Nissan X-Trail SUV is underpinned by the CMF-C platform and stands at dimensions of 4,680mm x 1,840mm x 1,725mm. It has a 2,705mm long wheelbase and clears the ground at 210mm. Up front, the SUV features a V-Motion grille which is finished in dark chrome. Flanking this grille on either side is a split LED headlamp array. The upright nose of the SUV adds to its menacing look. Along the sides, the X-Trail diamond-cut alloy wheels and rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding. At the back, it gets wraparound tail lamps.

Nissan X-Trail: What to expect?

Inside, the Nissan X-Trail features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a push-start button, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, paddle shifters, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. The India-spec version of the X-Trail will have a three-row layout. The second row will have 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding, and reclining functions. Meanwhile, the third row will have 50/50 split-folding and reclining functions.

Nissan X-Trail: What to expect?

The Nissan X-Trail is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine is linked to a 12V mild-hybrid setup. The X-Trail produces a combined engine output of 163hp and 300Nm. This engine system is paired with a CVT gearbox.

Conclusion

The Nissan X-Trail will be made available in three colour options – Champagne Silver, Pearl White, and Diamond Black. The SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 42-47 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, and Jeep Meridian.
