Citroen Basalt X gets a Comfort Edition, priced at Rs 8.75 lakh

Citroen India has expanded its Comfort Edition range to the Basalt X. Prices for the special edition Citroen Basalt X start at Rs 8.75 lakh. It is based on the You and Plus trims of the crossover. The special edition model gets curated Comfort AXS packs, interior enhancements, and more personalisation options. Last month, the Aircross SUV received a Comfort Edition priced at Rs 9.09 lakh.

Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition: What’s on offer?

The Comfort Edition of the Citroen Basalt X gets a Comfort AXS pack, which brings premium features to the You and Plus trims. These include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a JBL sound system, a front and cabin dashcam with predictive safety alerts, a reverse parking camera, and wireless charging. The leatherette seating dons the Metropolitan Beige colour theme.

Bookings open for Citroen Basalt X

No changes have been made under the hood of the Citroen Basalt X. The midsize crossover continues to be offered in 2 engine options. The entry-level variants are powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 82hp and 115Nm. This engine can only be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine powers the top-spec trims. It generates a maximum power output of 110hp and 190Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox (where it produces 205Nm of torque). The You trim is available with the NA petrol engine, while the Plus trim also gets the option of the turbo-petrol engine.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the standard Basalt X range start at Rs 8.55 lakh and go up to Rs 14.10 lakh. The crossover primarily rivals the Tata Curvv in India, along with midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and more.
