Tata Altroz Racer: What’s new?
Cosmetically, the Altroz Racer’s biggest highlight is its racing-themed paint scheme. The bonner and roof of the hatchback are painted with racing stripes. To conform with the red and black dual colour tone, the OVRMs and roof of the Tata Altroz Racer have been blacked out. The front grille has been reworked as well. A shark fin antenna has been added to the car and the rear spoiler is now more pronounced. Along the sides, the Racer rests on new 16-inch alloy wheels. The hatchback receives special ‘Racer’ badging on the front fenders.
Talking about the features, the Tata Altroz Racer rocks a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster with a MID unit. It also features ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and an air purifier. The electric sunroof is one of the biggest highlights of the hatchback. This sunroof can be controlled via voice commands. On top of that, the Altroz Racer gets safety features like six airbags and ESC as standard, and a 360-degree camera.
Under the hood, the Tata Altroz Racer is powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine is also found on the Altroz iTurbo. On the Altroz Racer, it produces a maximum power output of 120hp and 170Nm of torque, which is 10hp and 30Nm higher than the Altroz iTurbo. So far, Tata Motors has only confirmed the 6-speed manual transmission for the Altroz Racer. It remains to be seen whether the hatchback will get an automatic gearbox.

Conclusion
Prices for the Altroz range currently start at Rs Rs 6.65 lakh and go up to Rs 10.80 lakh. The Tata Altroz Racer will likely demand a small premium over this amount. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai i20 N Line, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
