In a bid to boost its SUV sales, MG Motor has slashed the prices for MG Hector and Hector Plus by up to Rs 1.37 lakh. The Hector SUV gets a maximum cut of Rs 1.27 lakh, while prices for the Hector Plus have been reduced up to Rs 1.37 lakh. The diesel variants for both SUVs receive the maximum price cut.

MG Hector is offered in two powertrain options – the 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 2.0-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol engine can generate a maximum power of 143hp with a torque of 250Nm, while the diesel engine can churn out 170hp with a torque of 350Nm. Both engines are mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the non-hybrid petrol version also gets the option of a CVT automatic.

The Hector Plus lineup now starts at Rs 17.50 lakh for the entry-level Smart variant and goes up to Rs 22.21 lakh for the top-spec Sharp Pro variant.

The facelifted versions of the Hector lineup were introduced in India back in January 2023. The SUV rivals the likes of Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Mahindra Scorpio N, Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
