Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has introduced a new ‘Tech’ package for its bestselling midsize SUV. This package is available for all variants of the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder. It brings comfort, convenience, and safety features to the SUV. Buyers will need to cough up a premium of Rs 24,999 to avail this package.

The special package adds ambient lighting, a heads-up display, and a dashcam/digital video recorder to the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. The top-spec V trim of the midsize SUV already comes with a heads-up display and ambient lighting. Apart from these upgrades, no other changes have been made to the SUV.
Other features of the Urban Cruiser HyRyder include an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, a rear door sunshade, ambient lighting, ventilated front seating, 15W fast-charging USB Type-C ports, wireless charging, LED spot and reading lamps, a 360-degree camera, an AQI display, and more. The SUV also packs a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. The touchscreen infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected car tech.
Powering the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder is Maruti Suzuki’s 1.5L K15C petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 101hp and 135Nm of torque. The strong-hybrid variants sport a 1.5L engine with the Toyota Hybrid System. The petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 91hp and 122Nm of torque, with the electric motor producing up to 79hp and 141Nm. The hybrid SUV is equipped with a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. Toyota claims a mileage of 27.97 kmpl for the strong hybrid setup.

Prices for the regular variants of the HyRyder start at Rs 10.95 lakh and go up to Rs 19.76 lakh. The SUV recently surpassed the 200,000 sales landmark. It rivals the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, and Skoda Kushaq in India.
