New variants added to Porsche 718, 911, and Taycan in India

Porsche has refreshed its lineup of Porsche 718, 911, and Taycan in India with the addition of new variants. The Porsche 718 gets Cayman and Boxster Style editions priced at Rs 1.44 crore and Rs 1.48 crore respectively. Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 gets a new Carrera T variant priced at Rs 1.81 crore, and the Taycan gets a new GTS variant priced at Rs 1.95 crore.

Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster Style editions

The new Cayman and Boxster Style editions bring a fresh colour scheme to the Porsche 718 lineup. The Cayman sports an Arctic Grey colour with black accents, while the Boxster Style comes in a Ruby Star Neo paint scheme with white highlights. The racing stripes also feature the new paint scheme and can be found across the front and side profiles of the 718. 

Inside, the two new Porsche 718 variants get a stainless steel finish on the door sill panels and receive a new leather upholstery package along with heated steering and seats, two-zone AC, and parking assistance.

Mechanically, things remain unchanged as the two new variants retain the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit that produces a maximum power output of 300hp and 380Nm peak torque. There is still no option for an automatic transmission as the Porsche 718 continues to be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Porsche 911 Carrera T

The Porsche 911 Carrera T sits between the entry-level Carrera and Carrera S variants in 911’s lineup. The Carrera T variant comes with the mechanical rear differential lock found on the Carrera S variant. There’s also an option to get rear-wheel steering which is usually a feature that is exclusive to high-end variants. The Carrera T is also 35 kg lighter than the entry-level Carrera variant. 

No mechanical changes have been made to Carrera T. Its continues to be offered 3.0-litre turbo petrol engine which is good for 379hp and 450Nm. This engine is mated to a 7-speed manual transmission.

Porsche Taycan GTS

The Porsche Taycan GTS sits between the base Taycan 4S variant and the high-end Turbo variants. The Taycan GTS gets a larger 93.4 kWh battery pack compared to the 79.2 kWh battery pack on the Taycan 4S. The Porsche Taycan GTS can produce a peak power output of 590hp and offers a range of 504hp. The top speed has been capped at 250kmph. Buyers can also opt for rear-wheel steering and a panoramic sunroof with variable light control.
