Pravaig Defy electric SUV: Everything you need to know

The Pravaig Defy electric SUV sports a unique boxy look with an angular design, something that you’d see on a concept car. Upfront, the electric SUV has an LED light bar running across the width. The edgy looks along with the crossover design strike some resemblance with the Range Rover SUVs.

Along the sides, the Pravaig Defy electric SUV gets 18-inch alloy wheels. The slopey roof design also contributes to its sporty look. At the back, the SUV gets a sleek LED light bar while retaining the edgy design. Pravaig claims that the angular look of the SUV gives it a dynamic drag coefficient of 0.33.

Underpinning the Defy SUV is a dedicated skateboard platform. The battery is fixed at the centre of this platform, making ample room for the luggage. Pravaig could use this platform for future SUVs as well. Powering the Pravaig Defy SUV is a dual electric motor that produces a peak output of 407hp and 620Nm torque. This places Defy among the likes of Audi e-Tron and Mercedes Benz EQC.

The SUV will take power from a 90.9 kWh battery pack. The driving range on offer is 500 km, as claimed by Pravaig. The SUV comes with a 7.2 kW home charger and has 150 kW DC fast charging support. The home charger can power up the battery to provide a 300km range in 8 hours.

Inside, the Pravaig Defy electric SUV gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes equipped with 5G connectivity. On top of that, the SUV also gets a 10-inch instrument display behind the wheel. Buyers can also opt for individual touchscreens for rear passengers, along with features like wireless charging. Other features include ambient lighting, climate control, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, six airbags, and connected car tech.

Conclusion

The Pravaig Defy electric SUV can now be booked at a token amount of Rs 51,000. The automaker will also be offering emergency roadside assistance across 34,000 pin code locations in India. The first year of roadside assistance is free for buyers, with the option to extend it to four years. Pravaig is also looking to expand its charging services across India, partnering up with charging infrastructure providers.
