Maruti Suzuki Ciaz gets ESP and Hill Hold Assist as standard

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has received a small update and now comes with new safety features as standard across all variants. These safety features include Electronic Stability Program and Hill Hold Assist. Maruti has also added dual-tone colour options for the top-spec Alpha trim of the Ciaz.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: New safety features and colour options

Earlier, the Electronic Stability Program and Hill Hold Assist were only offered on the higher variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. These features will now be made available across all variants. The Ciaz also comes with other safety features like ISOFIX child seats, dual front airbags, ABS, seatbelt pre-tensioners, rear parking sensors, and Electronic Brake Distribution. There is no option for six airbags on the sedan.

The three new dual-tone colour options are – Pearl Metallic Opulent Red, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, and Pearl Metallic Grandeur Grey. These colours will be paired with a black paint scheme on the roof. Other single-tone colour options include – Nexa Blue, Pearl Midnight Black, Splendid Silver, and Arctic White. The dual-tone colour options will demand an added price of Rs 16,000 and are only available for the top-spec Alpha variant.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz continues to be offered with a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that puts out a maximum power of 103hp and 138Nm peak torque. This engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The mileage on offer is 20.65kmpl for manual variants and 20.04kmpl for automatic variants. The engine comes with Smart Hybrid technology.

Conclusion

The dual-tone top-spec Alpha variant of the Ciaz fetches Rs 11.15 lakh for the manual variant, and Rs 12.35 lakh for the automatic variant. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz rivals other sedans like Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Skoda Slavia.
