Jeep Compass and Meridian Club Editions: What’s new?

The most impressive part about the two Club Editions is their pricing. Based on the entry-level models of their respective SUVs, the Club Editions undercut the costs of the base variants. The Jeep Compass Club Edition costs Rs 1.08 lakh less than its base variant, while the Meridian Club Edition is cheaper by Rs 2.38 lakh.

There aren’t many cosmetic changes on either of the limited edition SUVs. Both cars get a dual-tone roof, a new bonnet graphic, and ‘Club Edition’ branding on the tailgate. The feature list remains the same as well. Both Club Editions will replicate the features of their respective base trims. Jeep Compass Club Edition gets an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with safety features like dual airbags, cruise control, and ESC. Jeep Meridian Club Edition gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, and dual-zone AC.

Both SUVs get a singular powertrain option from their parent lineup. The Jeep Compass Club Edition retains the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that puts out 163hp and comes mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Meanwhile, the Jeep Meridian Club Edition gets the 2.0-litre diesel engine that puts out 170hp and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. AWD has not been made available for either SUV.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, the two Club Editions are available only for the month of February and will be produced in limited numbers. The Jeep Compass rivals the likes of MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Tucson, and Mahindra XUV700. Meanwhile, Jeep Meridian rivals Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
