Hyundai Venue N Line updated to comply with RDE norms

Hyundai India has updated the Hyundai Venue N Line with new features and brought it up to match the RDE norms that will be kicking in from April this year. The Venue N Line also receives a price hike for the MY2023 units. The automaker recently updated its entire SUV fleet to match the RDE norms.

2023 Hyundai Venue N Line: What’s new

The MY2023 units of the Hyundai Venue N Line get idle start/stop as standard across all variants. This feature boosts the fuel economy of the vehicle and helps in limiting CO2 emissions. The Venue N Line also received a price of Rs 30,000 and now starts at Rs 12.60 lakh for the base N6 variant. The top-spec N8 variant costs Rs 13.74 lakh. The compact SUV was launched last year at Rs 12.16 lakh for the N6 trim and Rs 13.15 lakh for the N8 trim (introductory prices).

The Hyundai Venue N Line retains all other features. The compact SUV comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with connected car tech. It also gets a digital instrument cluster, a powered driver’s seat, voice commands, ambient lighting, and a dashcam with a dual camera. There are some standard safety features available for both variants: Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), brake assist, and hill start assist. The only distinguishing factor in safety features is the number of airbags on offer, with N6 getting dual airbags while the N8 is fully equipped with six airbags.

Mechanically, the Hyundai Venue N Line offers the same engine as the rest of the lineup. This 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine can generate a maximum power of 118bhp and 172Nm peak torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters. Unlike the i20 N Line, there is no iMT option for Venue N Line, but the Venue N Line comes with disc brakes on all four wheels.

Conclusion

As the April deadline approaches, automakers are swiftly updating their portfolio with BS6 Phase II-compliant engines. Tata recently updated Harrier, Nexon, Punch, Altroz, and other offerings with engines compliant with RDE norms. The Hyundai Venue N Line rivals Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
