Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025: Hyundai Creta Electric launched at Rs 17.99 lakh

Hyundai Motor India kicked off the proceedings at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 with the launch of Creta Electric. Prices for Hyundai Creta Electric start at Rs 17.99 lakh and go up to Rs 23.50 lakh. The SUV is available in 5 variants and 2 battery sizes. The 11kW home wall-box charger is available at an additional price of Rs 73,000. Bookings for the electric SUV were opened earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Hyundai Creta Electric is available in 5 variants – Exclusive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium, and Excellence. The SUV comes in 2 battery sizes – 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The larger battery pack is only available on the Smart (O) and Excellence variants. Here is the price list for the EV.

Hyundai Creta Electric looks identical to its ICE sibling, bar a few EV-exclusive changes. The front grille of the SUV has been shut off and integrated with pixelated graphics. The front bumper also flaunts these graphics. The electric SUV also gets a skid plate along with Active Air Flaps for better cooling and airflow. The alloy wheels sport a new design and the LED tail lamps borrow the pixel design from the SUV’s front fascia. The ‘Electric’ branding can be spotted on the tailgate.

Inside, the Hyundai Creta Electric gets a Granite Gray and Dark Navy dual-tone theme along with ocean blue ambient lighting on the console. The open design of the centre console exudes roominess. The EV shares the instrumentation with its ICE sibling. It gets 10.25-inch displays for the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. Other features on the SUV include Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC), 8-way powered front seats, driver memory seat, powered passenger seat walk-in device, digital key, auto-dimming IVRM, and more.

Safety features on the Hyundai Creta Electric include 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Parking Brakes (EPB) with auto hold, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Electric Stability Control (ESC) with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Child Seat Anchor (ISOFIX), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and more. There is a Level 2 ADAS package on board with 19 safety features.

As mentioned earlier, Hyundai Creta Electric is available in 2 battery sizes. The 42kWh battery pack offers a 390km range while the 51.4kWh battery pack can power the SUV for 473km on a full charge. The EV is powered by a single motor mounted on the front axle. This electric motor produces a maximum power output of 171hp and 255Nm of torque on the bigger battery variants. These variants can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 7.9 seconds. The 42kWh battery variants put out 135hp.

Hyundai Creta Electric: First visuals

Using a 50kW DC charger, both battery packs can be charged from 10-80% in 58 minutes. A 100kW DC charger can accomplish the same feat in 39 minutes. The 11kW home charger can fully charge the 42kWh battery pack in 4 hours and 51.4kWh battery pack in 4 hours and 50 minutes. Both battery packs are rated IP67 for dust and water resistance.

Hyundai Creta Electric is available with a 3-year vehicle warranty (no kilometre limit) and an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty on the battery. Buyers also get a complimentary 3-year roadside assistance package with the EV. The Creta Electric rivals Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and MG Windsor EV.
