Hyundai Alcazar turbo petrol: What’s new?

In terms of cosmetics, the new Hyundai Alcazar remains largely unchanged compared to its predecessor. The changes are limited to a new grille design and puddle lamp logo. The SUV gets some new features like Idle Stop & Go and side and curtain airbags as standard across all variants. The instrument list remains unchanged.

The biggest change on the new Hyundai Alcazar comes under the hood as the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine replaces the outgoing 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This outgoing engine produced a maximum power output of 159hp and 192Nm peak torque. The new turbo petrol engine puts out 160hp and 253Nm peak torque.

This petrol engine can also be found on the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Kia Carens. The engine is compliant with upcoming RDE norms that are set to kick in from April. It is also E20 fuel ready, which means it will be able to run on 20% ethanol-blended petrol.

There are four variants of Alcazar on offer – Prestige, Platinum, Platinum (O), and Signature (O). The lower variants come with a seven-seat layout and with the option of a manual transmission only. The two higher variants get a six-seat layout and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Here’s what the full pricelist for Hyundai Alcazar looks like.

Variant Price
Prestige Rs 16.74 lakh
Platinum Rs 18.65 lakh
Platinum (O) Rs 19.96 lakh
Signature Rs 20.25 lakh
