Keeway SR125: What’s on offer?
Keeway SR125 has all the design elements of a retro scrambler. At the front, the motorbike sports a round halogen headlight with a single-pod instrument cluster display on top of it. The SR125 gets a single piece with a brown finish. The highlight of the bodywork is the 14.5-litre teardrop-shaped fuel tank. The rear profile comprises a small fender, round tail light, and turn indicators.
Moving on to the mechanics, the Keeway SR125 is powered by a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 9.7hp and 8.2Nm peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork and 5-step adjustable twin shock absorbers. The motorbike rests on a single down tube frame.
The Keeway SR125 sports a 300mm disc brake at the front and a 210mm disc at the rear. The motorbike weighs 120kg, which is a lot more than its other 125cc counterparts. The ground clearance of the SR125 is 160mm. Keeway is offering the SR125 in three colour options – Glossy Black, Glossy Red, and Glossy White.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director, Keeway India, said “I am pleased to launch the all-new Keeway SR125. With the SR125, we aim to introduce the budding motorcycle enthusiast into the Keeway family. Its simple yet attractive, classic old school design, peppy performance and uncomplicated operation is sure to resonate with those looking for a simple yet enjoyable riding experience,”
At Rs 1.19 lakh, Keeway SR125 is the most expensive 125cc motorbike on the market, but it is the most affordable out of Keeway’s India lineup. Bookings for the SR125 are currently open at a token amount of Rs 1,000. Keeway says the deliveries will be rolled out by the end of October. The Keeway SR125 rivals TVS Raider, Honda Shine, Honda SP125, Bajaj Pulsar 125, TVS Apache RTR 160, and Yamaha FZ Series.
