Toyota Innova Crysta and Taisor prices hiked by up to Rs 26,500

After increasing the prices of the Rumion MPV, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has hiked the prices of the Innova Crysta and the Urban Cruiser Taisor. The Toyota Innova Crysta is dearer by up to Rs 26,500. Meanwhile, the Urban Cruiser Taisor, Toyota’s compact SUV, is pricier by a meagre Rs 2,500. Both cars remain unchanged mechanically and cosmetically.

The Toyota Innova Crysta lineup now starts at Rs 19.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 27.08 lakh. Powering the MPV is a 2.4-litre diesel engine that can produce a maximum power output of 150hp and 343Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. There are 2 drive modes onboard – Power and Eco.

In terms of features, the Toyota Innova Crysta packs an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, a powered driver seat, picnic tables for the middle row, climate control, and more. On the safety front, it gets 7 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with EBD, Hill-Start Assist, Brake Assist, and more.

The Toyota Innova Crysta rivals the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, Tata SafariKia Carnival, and Mahindra XUV700.

Prices for the Urban Cruiser Taisor now start at Rs 7.76 lakh and go up to Rs 12.90 lakh. The SUV is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The two cars share the same powertrains. The 1.2-litre K Series naturally aspirated petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 100hp and 148Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

The Taisor SUV flaunts features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, keyless entry, paddle shifters, wireless charging, push start/stop, electrically adjustable OVRMs, a heads-up display, and more.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser rivals Maruti Suzuki FronxTata PunchCitroen C3Hyundai ExterNissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger in India.

Final Thoughts

Rumion and Taisor’s Maruti counterparts, Ertiga and Fronx, have also received price hikes this month. However, in Maruti’s case, the increase in prices is the result of making 6 airbags a standard feature in the 2 cars. The Toyota offerings have not received any upgrades.
