Prices of MG Comet EV hiked by up to Rs 15,000

MG Motor India has hiked the prices of the Comet EV for the second time this year. The MG Comet EV lineup now starts at Rs 7.50 lakh. The urban commuter still remains one of the most affordable EVs in India. It is available in 3 variants: Executive, Excite, and Exclusive. There’s a special Blackstorm Edition on offer as well. The EV can also be purchased at a lower price with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model.

The 17.3kWh battery pack on the MG Comet EV offers a driving range of 230km. This battery pack has been sourced from Tata AutoComp and is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. Using the 3.3kW charger that comes with the car, the EV can be fully charged in 7 hours. Last year, MG Motor added a 7.4kW AC charger for the Excite and Exclusive variants. This charger can fully replenish the battery pack in 3.5 hours. The EV derives power from a single electric motor that can produce a maximum power output of 42hp and 110Nm of torque.

In March 2025, MG Motor updated the mid-spec Excite variant of the Comet EV with some premium features from the top-spec Exclusive trim. These included a rear parking camera and electronically folding outside rear-view mirrors. Meanwhile, the Exclusive trim was updated with premium leatherette upholstery and a four-speaker sound system. The urban commuter is packed with dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. The steering sports a two-spoke design with integrated controls. The cabin exudes a unique look due to the central console being detached from the dashboard. There are a total of 55 connectivity features onboard.
