Volkswagen India has announced a 3-day pan-India exchange and upgrade carnival. The carnival will kick off on 16th December and last till 18th December 2022. Prospective and existing customers can check out the exchange and upgrade carnival at any of Volkswagen’s 157 sales touchpoints across the country. Volkswagen will be providing exciting new offers which include year-end exchange benefits, easy home evaluation of exchange vehicles, hassle-free financing options, and more. Prospective buyers can also test drive Volkswagen’s latest offering, Volkswagen Virtus, along with Taigun and Tiguan.

Volkswagen launched the Virtus earlier in June at a starting price of Rs 11.22 lakh. The top-spec trim of the midsize sedan fetches up to Rs 17.92 lakh.  The 2022 Virtus is available in two variants, Dynamic Line and Performance Line. The Dynamic Line further offers three trims, Comfortline, Highline, and Topline, while the top-spec Performance Line offers only one GT Line variant. Earlier this month, the Virtus scored 5 stars on the Latin NCAP crash tests.

The VW Virtus Dynamic Line variants are powered by a 1.0L TSI three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 113hp and 175Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT gearbox. The automatic transmission is reportedly available with the Highline and Topline trims only while the manual transmission is available with all models.

New Volkswagen Virtus Launched In India

The Performance Line sources its power from a 1.5L TSI four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 148hp and 250Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Both the product lineups get engine start/stop function, while the GT Line also gets Active Cylinder Deactivation Technology.

Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Editon launched, gets new cosmetic updates

Volkswagen also added a new ‘Exclusive Edition’ to Tiguan’s lineup recently. The variant remains mechanically unchanged but adds a few cosmetic features like load sill protection and 18-inch Sebring Sterling Silver five-spoke alloy wheels. The ‘Exclusive Editon’ has been made available in two colours – Pure White and Oryx White.

In other news, the Volkswagen Taigun became one of the safest SUVs in India after being awarded 5 stars at the Global NCAP tests. The SUV received 29.64 points out of 34 in the adult occupant protection test and 42 points out of a possible 49 in the child occupant protection test. VW Taigun comes with safety features like ABS with EBD, ESC, TPMS, Hill Hold Control, Multi Collision Braking, Rear Parking Distance Control, and more.
