New Tata Nexon EV 2022 To Launch On April 6th: With A Longer Range

The EV market segment in India will be witnessing another new addition to it, the new Tata Nexon EV 2022. The electric vehicles (EV) industry is progressing with exponential growth, not just in India but globally as well. Electric vehicles are no more the future, but a talk of the present now. To tell you the truth, investments have been flocking in like anything in this sector. Recently, the Suzuki Motor Corp also confirmed an investment of Rs 10,440Cr to set up EV manufacturing in India.

Earlier also it had been reported that Tata Motors raised $1B from overseas private equity firms for expanding into the EV segment. The Tata Nexon EV ruled the electric vehicles industry in India last year, with more than 60% market share. Now, the brand is all set to launch its all-new Tata Nexon EV 2022 on April 6th this year.

The Tata Nexon EV along with its sibling Tata Tigor EV both come in the top 5 cheapest electric cars available in India. Its main competitors include the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV. Besides these, there are a number of electric vehicles that have been or are planned to be launched in 2022 ahead. Especially in the SUV segment, Mahindra is focusing on the launch of its new EV SUV range which is expected to launch in July this year. Jeep SUV EV is also going to be launched sometime in early 2023.

The new uplifted version of the Nexon EV is said to come with a larger battery pack, hence giving it a longer range. Apart from the existing 30.2kWh battery, the Tata Nexon EV 2022 will be powered by a 40kWh battery which would deliver a claimed range of about 400km. Apart from this, the Tata Nexon EV 2022 facelift will also be equipped with disc brakes at all corners, ESP, selectable regeneration modes and more. It is expected to come with a few cosmetic upgrades including a redesigned floor and boot space and new wheels as well. 

Speaking of the charging options, the new Tata Nexon EV 2022 will provide you with 3.3kW and a 6.6kW AC charger.

The current Tata Nexon EV price starts from Rs 14.54 lakhs ex-showroom, while the new Tata Nexon EV 2022 price in India is expected to be Rs 3 to 4 lakhs more than the current model.
