Cosmetically, the Tata Altroz Racer gets a new paint scheme and graphics which are in line with its sporty theme. The bonnet and roof are painted with two parallel racing stripes. The OVRMs and roof have been blacked out as a part of the red-and-black dual-tone paint scheme. The grille gets a minor design tweak as well. The ‘Racer’ badging can be found on the front fenders. The hatchback also gets a shark fin antenna and a more pronounced rear spoiler. The hatchback remains the same in profile but gets a new look for the 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Tata Altroz Racer gets an all-black theme. In terms of features, the hatchback gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster with a MID unit, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, and wireless charging. One of the most exciting features of the Altroz Racer is the electric sunroof. This sunroof will support voice commands as well. Safety features include six airbags and ESC as standard, along with a 360-degree camera.
More important changes come under the hood as the Tata Altroz Racer is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This is the same engine as the Altroz iTurbo. However, on the Racer, this engine has been tuned to produce a maximum power output of 120hp and 170Nm peak torque. This is 10hp and 30Nm more than the Altroz iTurbo. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission instead of a 5-speed manual gearbox on the current version. It remains to be seen whether Tata will offer the Altroz Racer with an automatic transmission.
