The new Force Gurkha 5-door will retain the overall design of the 3-door variant apart from a few changes. The circular units for the headlamps will be replaced by square cutouts. The grille pattern up front remains the same, with the 5-door SUV carrying forward the two-slat design. Along the sides, the new Gurkha will rest on 18-inch alloys. The 3-door version of the SUV has 16-inch alloy wheels. The front and rear bumpers may get a few tweaks as well. Being a 5-door SUV, it unsurprisingly gets two additional doors at the back.
The interior dashboard layout on the 5-door Force Gurkha will be identical to its 3-door sibling. Spy shots reveal that the 4WD knob on the new Gurkha will be positioned next to the driver’s seat. Meanwhile, the 3-door Gurkha rocks two different diff-lock levers for the front and rear, and a manually operated transfer case. This is placed behind the gear lever.
The 5-door Force Gurkha may get multiple seating options. The 6-seat variant will get captain seats for all three rows. Meanwhile, the 7-seat variant will get captain seats for the first and third rows and a bench seat for the middle row. Finally, the 9-seat variant will have a bench seat in the middle row followed by two parallel benches in the third row.
Talking about the powertrain, the 5-door Force Gurkha will retain the 2.6-litre diesel engine from its 3-door counterpart. This engine is sourced from Mercedes and produces a maximum power output of 91hp and 250Nm of peak torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 5-door Gurkha will also be made available in an All Wheel Drive configuration.

Prices for the 3-door Gurkha start at Rs 15.10 lakh. The 5-door Force Gurkha will cost a significant premium over its 3-door sibling. The new Gurkha also has a 425mm longer wheelbase than the 3-door version. Upon its release in May, it will rival the Mahindra Thar 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door.
