L&K trim of Skoda Kodiaq gets a Rs 2 lakh price cut

Skoda Auto India has slashed the prices for the L&K trim of the Kodiaq SUV by Rs 2 lakh. The automaker has also discontinued the two entry-level trims (Style and Sportline) from Kodiaq’s lineup. The SUV will now be available in a single L&K trim. After the Rs 2 lakh price hike, it is priced at Rs 39.99 lakh. No other changes have been made to the SUV.

Skoda Kodiaq: New prices and variant rejig

Updated Skoda Kodiaq 4x4 launched at Rs 37.99 lakhThe L&K variant was previously priced at Rs 41.99 lakh. The price cut brings the SUV’s price to just under Rs 40 lakh. No cosmetic changes have been made to the Kodiaq. The SUV features a wide grille which is flanked by LED headlamps on either side. The Skoda Crystalline LEDs have illuminated eyelashes. The tail lamps at the back feature dynamic turn indicators. The front and rear bumpers are body coloured as well.

Skoda Kodiaq: New prices and variant rejig

Inside, the Skoda Kodiaq L&K focuses on rear seat luxury with stone beige leather perforated upholstery. The 12-way adjustable seats get built-in cooling and heating in the L&K variant. Buyers get to choose between a two-spoke or three-spoke steering design. The SUV also gets a 625 W 12-speaker audio system with a subwoofer, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Infotainment duties are handled by a 10.24-inch display unit. Also onboard, is a digital instrument cluster. In terms of safety features, the Kodiaq gets 9 airbags, multi-collision braking, stability control, hill descent control, park assist, a 360-degree camera, and more.

Skoda Kodiaq: What’s new?

Powering the Skoda Kodiaq is the 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 187hp and 320Nm of torque. The SUV gets an ‘All Wheel Drive’ and can reach 0-100kmph in just 7.8 seconds. Skoda claims that the updated engine is 4.2% more fuel efficient. The SUV offers six drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow.

The new pricing will make the Skoda Kodiaq more attractive to buyers who are looking for a premium SUV under Rs 40 lakh. The automaker will bring the next-gen Kodiaq to India next year.
