Updated Skoda Kodiaq 4×4 launched at Rs 37.99 lakh

Skoda Kodiaq has been updated to meet the new BS6 Phase II norms and has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 37.99 lakh. The SUV is available in three variants – Style, Sportline, and L&K. The Sportline variant is priced at Rs 39.39 lakh while the top-end L&K variant fetches Rs 41.39 lakh.

Skoda Kodiaq: What’s new?

Skoda Kodiaq is now compliant with the BS6 Phase II emission norms. The SUV retains the 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 187hp and 320Nm of torque. The SUV gets an ‘All Wheel Drive’ and can reach 0-100kmph in just 7.8 seconds. Skoda claims that the updated engine is 4.2% more fuel efficient. The SUV offers six drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow.

Apart from the engine, the 2023 Kodiaq gets some minor updates like door-edge protectors, lounge step for passengers, outer headrests for 2nd row, and additional finlets to the rear spoiler for better airflow. The interior layout and instrumentation remain the same. The SUV comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech. The Kodiaq offers support for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and has its own MySkoda ConnectED app for advanced connectivity features.

Conclusion

Skoda also announced that 750 units of the Kodiaq will now be allotted to India every quarter. Last year, all the allotments of the Kodiaq were filled within 24 hours, leading to the increase in allotted units this year. Skoda will also be introducing the next-gen Kodiaq globally this year. In India, Skoda Kodiaq rivals the likes of MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Jeep Compass.
