Citroen India has hiked the prices for the Basalt crossover. Citroen Basalt was launched in India in August 2024 at a starting price of 7.99 lakh. Its prices now start at Rs 8.25 lakh for the entry-level You variant and go up to Rs 13.99 lakh for the Max Turbo Dual Tone AT variant. The crossover is available in 8 trims. Only the Plus trim is unaffected by the price hike.

Citroen Basalt is available in two engine options. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 110hp and 190Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox (where it produces 205Nm of torque). On the C3 Aircross SUV, this engine offers a mileage of 18.5 kmpl. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine puts out 82hp and 115Nm. This engine can only be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Inside, the Citroen Basalt crossover rocks a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless charging, contoured headrests, and additional storage underneath the centre console. Surprisingly, the sunroof is missing from the crossover SUV. In terms of safety, the crossover gets features like six airbags, ESC, TPMS, and a rear parking camera.

The Basalt is available in 5 colour options – Steel Grey, Polar White, Garnet Red, Cosmo Blue, and Platinum Grey. Citroen may launch an all-electric version of the crossover down the line. Right now, Citroen Basalt rivals Tata Curvv ICE along with the existing midsize SUVs in India.
