Jaguar Land Rover has launched the Defender SUV with a V8 engine in India. The Land Rover Defender V8 was discontinued in the Indian market last year. Prices for the MY2025 Defender V8 start at Rs 1.39 crore. The luxury SUV is available in 3 body styles (90, 110, and 130) and 2 trim levels (X-Dynamic HSE and X). JLR will reveal the price list for all variants in the coming weeks.

2025 Land Rover Defender: Everything you need to know
The new 5.0-litre V8 P425 petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 426hp and 610Nm of torque on the 2025 Land Rover Defender. The luxury SUV also gets a Terrain Response system, electronic air suspension and adaptive dynamics, all-terrain tyres, and 20-inch Satin Dark Grey wheels.
The Land Rover Defender also gets the option of a 2.0-litre petrol engine for the 110 body style in the X-Dynamic HSE trim level. The 3.0-litre diesel engine is available in all body types for all available trims and the Sedona Edition. The Defender 110 is available in an electric hybrid powertrain that puts out 419hp.
In terms of features, the 2025 Land Rover Defender gets the Pivi Pro infotainment system with an 11.4-inch touchscreen, Interactive Driver Display, and 3D Surround Camera. The SUV also flaunts 14-way heated and cooled electric memory front seats with Ebony interiors and winged headrests and 2nd-row climate seats with winged headrests. Other features include configurable cabin lighting, a sliding panoramic sunroof, a Meridian sound system, a refrigerated compartment in the centre console, and a soft close tail door. There are 4 driving and ADAS packs on offer – OffRoad Pack, Advanced OffRoad Pack, Dynamic Handling Pack, and Air Suspension Pack.
