Volkswagen India has slashed the prices for its midsize SUV offering, Taigun. The Volkswagen Taigun range now starts at Rs 11 lakh. The top-spec variant fetches Rs 18.90 lakh. Out of the 21 variants of the Taigun on offer, five have received a price cut. The top-spec GT Edge variant of the SUV gets the biggest price cut (Rs 1.10 lakh) out of all the variants.

All colour versions of the top-spec GT Edge Plus trim are now priced at Rs 18.90 lakh. The Carbon Steel Grey Matte version of this trim gets the biggest price cut out of all the variants. The entry-level Comfortline variant, which is only available with a 1.0-litre TSI engine and a manual gearbox, is now priced at Rs 11 lakh, after a price cut of Rs 70,000.
Volkswagen Taigun is available in two powertrain options. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine can produce a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox.
In terms of features, the Volkswagen Taigun is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, a 6-speaker sound system, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a multi-function steering wheel. The car also gets the My Volkswagen Connect app for some connected features such as driving behaviour, live tracking, and more.

Conclusion
This price cut makes the Volkswagen Taigun one of the more attractive options in the cutthroat midsize SUV segment. The SUV undercuts the prices of many of its rivals. Its prime competitors in India include the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq.
