Nissan Magnite has crossed the sales landmark of 30,000 units for the third year running. In FY2023-24, the 30,146 units of the compact SUV were sold in India. The automaker also announced that the Magnite achieved the cumulative sales landmark of 1 lakh units back in January. The Magnite is currently the only Nissan car available in India. The automaker is planning to expand its portfolio in the country.

Nissan Magnite made its debut in India back in December 2020. Since then, the automaker has sold over 1 lakh units of the SUV domestically. In FY2021-22, Nissan sold 33,905 units of the Magnite. This was followed by 32,546 sales in FY2022-23 and 30,146 units sold in FY2023-24. In this time period, Nissan also shipped over 30,000 units of the SUV to overseas markets in South Africa, Uganda, Indonesia, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Despite its affordable pricing, Nissan Magnite is packed with features like an 8-inch touchscreen with WiFi connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless charging, ambient mood lighting, push-button start, and an air purifier. Safety features include a Traction Control System, Hill Assist, and Brake Assist. The Geza Edition of the SUV gets a larger 9-inch touchscreen unit for the infotainment system.
The SUV is available in 2 engine options. The 1.0-litre petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 72hp and 96Nm of torque. This engine is now available with a 5-speed AMT gearbox alongside the existing manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine churns out a peak power output of 100hp and 160Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a manual or CVT gearbox.

Prices for Nissan Magnite start at Rs 6 lakh and go up to Rs 11.11 lakh for the top-spec variant. It is the most affordable SUV in India, a title it shares with its Renault cousin, Kiger. The Magnite is expected to get a facelift in the coming months. It rivals the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Punch, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
