New Hyundai Tucson bookings open, offered in two trims

Hyundai took the wraps off the new Tucson earlier this month. With the launch date set for August 4, bookings for the new Hyundai Tucson are now open. With a token amount of Rs 50,000, the new Hyundai Tucson can be booked at Hyundai Signature outlets or through the official Hyundai website. The new Tucson will be offered in two trims: Platinum and Signature.

2022 Hyundai Tucson: A Closer Look

Now that the two trims have been officially announced, let’s take a closer look at what they have to offer. The Platinum being the base model offers two 10.25-inch screens – one infotainment touchscreen, and the other a fully digital instrument cluster. On top of that, the Hyundai Tucson Platinum comes with a surround-view monitor, blind view monitor, 8-speaker Bose surround sound system, black and light grey dual tone interiors, 6 airbags, hill-start assist, electronic stability control, vehicle stable management, and connected car tech.

The Signature is the higher-end model that gets all the features of the Platinum model and some more. Perhaps the most important feature of the Signature trim is the much-talked-about SmartSense ADAS system. On top of that, the Hyundai Tucson Signature gets an 8-way powered co-driver seat, hands-free powered tailgate, driver power seat memory function, and multi-terrain drive modes.

Under the hood, the new Hyundai Tucson will be offered in 2.0-litre petrol and diesel options. The petrol engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and generates a maximum power of 156hp and 192Nm torque. The 2.0-litre diesel engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and generates a maximum power of 186hp and 416Nm torque.

Bookings for Hyundai Tucson are now open. We expect the price to be anywhere between Rs 23-28 lakh, depending on the variant. Once launched, the Hyundai Tucson will rival Citroen C5 Aircross, Jeep Compass, Toyota Fortuner, and Kia Seltos.
