Mahindra Scorpio and Bolero Electric: What’s in store?

The two electric variants of Mahindra Scorpio and Bolero will be dubbed Scorpio.e and Bolero.e. They will not be a part of Mahindra’s Born Electric series which was announced at last year’s Independence Day event. The two SUVs will be underpinned by Thar.e’s (electric Thar) P1 version of the INGLO platform.

Mahindra Born Electric Series

The electric motors for the two SUVs will be sourced from Volkswagen. While the Bolero will come with an RWD and single motor configuration, Mahindra Scorpio Electric could also get an AWD and dual-motor option. Mahindra may also utilise the P1 platform for electric variants of its other SUVs. Currently, XUV400 is the only Mahindra electric SUV on offer in India.

Mahindra Born Electric Series

Last year, Mahindra unveiled 5 new electric SUVs at its Independence Day event. Three of these SUVs (BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09) belonged to the Born Electric series. The other two (XUV.e8 and XUV.e9) are a part of the XUV lineup. Mahindra plans to roll out these electric SUVs between December 2024 and April 2026. The release of Mahindra Scorpio and Bolero Electric has been scheduled after that. Expect the two electric to be launched by the end of 2023.
