Land Rover Defender 130: Here’s what you need to know

The Land Rover Defender 130 is 340mm longer than the Defender 110, with extra space added behind the rear axle. This makes the wheelbase of the two SUVs identical and gives the Defender 130 extra space for a third seating row. The overhang also increases the Defender 130’s bootspace to 389 litres. Collapsing the third seating row increases the bootspace to 1,232 litres while folding both rows gives you a bootspace of 2,291 litres. Other than the dimensions, the Defender 130 looks identical to the Defender 90 and 110.

With the additional third row, the Land Defender 130 now accommodates 8 people in it. The middle and rear rows are positioned at an elevated angle to increase forward visibility. Access to the third row is granted by folding the second row. The automaker claims the third row is spacious enough to accommodate three adults. There is an additional sunroof for the rear row as well.

The Land Rover Defender 130 offers the same features as its other two siblings in the Defender lineup. It comes with an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a Meridian audio system, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, electrically adjustable front seats, and more.

Two powertrain options are on offer for the Defender 130. The 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 400hp and 550Nm peak torque. Meanwhile, the 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine puts out 300hp and 650Nm. Both powertrains get a mild hybrid configuration along with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
