Discounts offered on the outgoing Honda City model as facelift nears launch

Honda is offering discounts of more than Rs 70,000 on the outgoing models of Honda City as it plans on introducing the facelifted version of the sedan next month. These discounts come in the form of cash discounts, exchange bonuses, loyalty discounts, corporate discounts, and free accessories. The upcoming facelift of the Honda City is expected to be launched in the first week of March.

Honda City discounts explained

Manual variants of Honda City get a cash discount of Rs 30,000 and a free accessories pack worth Rs 32,493. On top of that, customers can avail an exchange bonus of Rs 20,000, a loyalty bonus of Rs 5,000, a corporate discount of Rs 8,000, and a Honda Car Exchange bonus of Rs 7,000.

CVT variants of the compact sedan get a cash discount of Rs 20,000 and a free accessories pack worth Rs 21,643. On top of that, Honda is also offering an exchange bonus of Rs 20,000 along with some corporate and loyalty bonuses.

The 2023 Honda City facelift gets minor design tweaks. The bumper gets a slight redesign while the grille now comes with a sleeker chrome bar. The grille itself will come with a honeycomb pattern for higher trims and vertical slats for entry-level trims. A new Blue colour scheme has also been made available for the new Honda City.

Honda is also planning on adding a new entry-level hybrid trim to the City lineup. Currently, the Hybrid configuration is only available in the top-spec ZX trim. The automaker will be discontinuing the diesel engine for City due to the upcoming emission norms. The petrol and strong hybrid configurations of the sedan have been updated to meet the BS6 Phase II norms.

Conclusion 

These discounts are available for the rest of the month. It remains to be seen whether these discounts will be applicable after the launch of the facelift, which will cost at least Rs 1 lakh more than the outgoing model. Upon launch, the 2023 Honda City will rival the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
