Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition launched in India at Rs 11.85 lakh

A new ‘Aurochs Edition’ has been added to the Kia Sonet lineup in India. This special edition of the SUV will fetch Rs 11.85 lakh. The Aurochs Edition of the Sonet is based on the HTX trims and comes in multiple powertrain options. While there are no mechanical changes on the Aurochs Edition, it gets a few cosmetic upgrades.

Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition: What’s new?

The changes on the new Aurochs Edition of the Kia Sonet are limited to minor cosmetic upgrades. The special edition SUV gets a more muscular skid plate up front. It also gets tangerine highlights on different components like door sills, front bumper, grille, wheel caps, and rear skid plate. The special edition ‘Aurochs’ branding can be found on the front grille.

Inside, the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition gets semi-leatherette seating with silver seating. The leatherette finish can be found on the door armrest and the steering wheel as well. The AC vents get a silver finish as well. The features remain the same, as the Auroch Edition gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, multiple drive modes, single pane sunroof, cruise control, and more. In terms of safety, the SUV gets four airbags, TPMS, an anti-lock brake system, brake assist, ESC, VSM, and more.

As mentioned earlier, there are no changes under the hood of the SUV. The Aurochs Edition of the Kia Sonet gets two powertrain options – a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit. The former produces a maximum power output of 120hp and 172Nm of torque. The diesel unit puts out 116hp and 250Nm. The petrol engine comes with 6-speed iMT and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission options. The diesel engine is mated to a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Conclusion

The Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition is available in four colour options – Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, and Glacier White Pearl. The SUV rivals the likes of Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, and Renault Kiger.
