MG Comet EV variants and price list revealed

MG India has finally revealed variants and the full price list for MG Comet. The compact EV was launched at a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh last month. Bookings for the Comet EV are set to begin on May 25 with the delivery rollout scheduled for the following week. The Comet is available in three variants – Pace, Play, and Plush.

MG Comet EV launched in India at Rs 7.98 lakh

Prices for the MG Comet start at Rs 7.98 lakh for the Pace variant. The Play variant has been priced at Rs 9.28 lakh while the Plus variant fetches Rs 9.98 lakh. These are the introductory prices that are valid for the first 5,000 bookings. Prices for the Comet will be hiked once the introductory offer ends.

The MG Comet EV gets a 17.3kWh battery pack that offers a driving range of 230km. This battery pack has been sourced from Tata AutoComp and is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. Using the 3.3kW charger that comes with the car, the EV can be fully charged in seven hours. Powering the Comet EV is a single electric motor that can produce a maximum power output of 42hp and 110Nm of torque. The Comet is a rebadged version of the Wuling Air which is sold in Indonesia.

The interior of the MG Comet EV is decked with premium features. The urban commuter gets dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. The steering gets a two-spoke design with integrated controls. The centre control is detached from the dashboard, which gives a unique look to the interior. This centre control houses the gear selector, power window switches, and an electronic parking brake. Comet’s seating capacity is limited to 4 people, but there is ample legroom for the passengers. A total of 55 connectivity features are available for the Comet and can be accessed through the dedicated app.

MG Comet is available in five colour options. Buyers can also opt for different stickers and graphic packs to personalise the EV. As an electric urban commuter, MG Comet does not have any true competitors in India. The Comet undercuts Tata Tiago EV, which is a regular-sized electric hatchback, by Rs 71,000. MG Comet will also rival the Citroen eC3.
