Honda City facelift launched at a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh

Honda India has finally launched the 2023 Honda City facelift at a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh. The top-spec mild hybrid trim fetches Rs 20.39 lakh. Honda has also added two new entry-level variants to the City lineup. The entry-level hybrid variant is Rs 1 lakh cheaper than its predecessor. Honda City can be booked online at a token amount of Rs 5,000 or at a dealership for Rs 21,000.

2023 Honda City facelift: Everything you need to know

The new Honda City facelift comes with minimal changes to its exterior. The bumper has been slightly redesigned and the grille has a sleeker chrome bar running across it. The grille itself will come with a honeycomb pattern for higher trims and vertical slats for entry-level trims. A new Obsidian Blue colour scheme has also been made available for the new Honda City.

Along the sides, the 16-inch alloy wheels offered on the higher trims have undergone a design change. The rear profile receives a few fresh touches in the form of a design tweak for the bumper and new positioning for the reflectors. A spoiler has also been placed on the trunk.

Like the exterior profile, the interior layout of the new City facelift remains the same as its predecessor. However, the facelift comes with a few feature upgrades. The biggest change is the inclusion of the ADAS package on the automatic as well as the manual variants. This includes features like lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. The Hybrid variant of the sedan gets new safety features like Low Speed Follow and Lead Car Departure Notification System. Top-spec trims get features like TPMS, rain sensing wipers, and wireless charging.

As reported earlier, Honda has discontinued the diesel engine for the City lineup.  The petrol and strong hybrid configurations of the sedan have been updated to meet the BS6 Phase II norms. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 121hp and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. Meanwhile, the hybrid powertrain produces a peak power output of 126hp and is paired with an e-CVT gearbox. Honda claims a fuel efficiency of 17.8kmpl and 18.4kmpl on the petrol-manual and petrol-automatic variants of the City. The strong-hybrid variant is reported to offer a fuel efficiency of 27.13kmpl.

Conclusion

Honda has added a new entry-level SV trim for the petrol manual powertrain and a V trim for the mild hybrid powertrain. Previously, the hybrid configuration was available in just one trim (ZX). Here’s what the price list for the Honda City lineup looks like.
