Powering the Tata Punch CNG is the 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that is also found in the petrol variant. This engine produces a maximum power output of 77hp and 97Nm of torque in a CNG setup and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. In a petrol configuration, this engine puts out 86hp and 113Nm. Tata Punch CNG offers a fuel efficiency of 26.99km/kg. In comparison, the Altroz CNG offers a mileage of 26.2km/kg while the Hyundai Exter CNG’s fuel efficiency numbers amount to 27.10km/kg.
Tata Punch CNG features the signature dual-cylinder layout for the fuel tanks. The two CNG tanks are located under the boot floor. Each cylinder has an individual capacity of 30 litres. This frees up a lot of storage space. The Punch CNG has a boot space capacity of 210 litres.
There are no cosmetic changes on Tata Punch CNG, apart from the iCNG badging on the vehicle. The SUV gets features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, and more. The SUV went into production last month. Tata Motors is expected to commence the deliveries for the Punch CNG in the coming weeks.
