Fuel efficiency specs for Tata Punch CNG revealed

After launching Tata Punch CNG earlier this month, the automaker has revealed the fuel efficiency specs for the compact SUV. Prices for the Punch start at Rs 7.10 lakh for the Pure trim and go up to Rs 9.68 lakh for the Accomplished Dazzle S trim. The top-spec Creative variant has been left out of the CNG lineup.

Tata Punch CNG: Fuel efficiency numbers

Powering the Tata Punch CNG is the 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that is also found in the petrol variant. This engine produces a maximum power output of 77hp and 97Nm of torque in a CNG setup and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. In a petrol configuration, this engine puts out 86hp and 113Nm. Tata Punch CNG offers a fuel efficiency of 26.99km/kg. In comparison, the Altroz CNG offers a mileage of 26.2km/kg while the Hyundai Exter CNG’s fuel efficiency numbers amount to 27.10km/kg.

Tata Punch CNG launched in India at Rs 7.10 lakh

Tata Punch CNG features the signature dual-cylinder layout for the fuel tanks. The two CNG tanks are located under the boot floor. Each cylinder has an individual capacity of 30 litres. This frees up a lot of storage space. The Punch CNG has a boot space capacity of 210 litres.

Tata Altroz and Punch iCNG: What’s on offer

There are no cosmetic changes on Tata Punch CNG, apart from the iCNG badging on the vehicle. The SUV gets features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, and more. The SUV went into production last month. Tata Motors is expected to commence the deliveries for the Punch CNG in the coming weeks.

Conclusion 

Tata Punch is the fourth Tata vehicle after Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz to come with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In India, Tata Punch CNG rivals the likes of Hyundai Exter CNG, Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG, and Brezza CNG.
