Chinese automaker Build Your Dreams has unveiled the BYD Atto 3 EV SUV in India. Bookings for the electric SUV have started already, with the token amount being set at Rs 50,000. Prices for the Atto 3 will be announced in the coming weeks. BYD plans to roll out deliveries by January 2023. Build Your Dreams made its entry into the Indian market with the e6 electric MPV. The Atto 3 will be assembled in the automaker’s facility near Chennai.

The front profile of BYD Atto 3 features a closed-off front grille with the company’s branding at the centre of the silver strip. The sleek LED headlamps along with LED DRLs can be found on either side of the grille. The wheel arches have been blacked out and the EV features a very pronounced SUV-like shoulder line. 

Along the sides, the BYD Atto 3 gets 18-inch five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the EV gets full-length LED tail lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler, and bold BYD branding. The SUV sports dimensions of 4,445 x 1,875 x 1,615 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. The boot space has been capped at 440 litres.

Inside, the BYD Atto 3 EV SUV features a 12.8-inch rotating central screen, LED lighting, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, digital instrument cluster, and smartphone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety features include 7 airbags, ABS, hill descent control, ESC, traction control, and a 360-degree camera. The SUV will also get an ADAS package comprising blindspot monitoring, emergency braking, lane assist, and more.

Powering the BYD Atto 3 EV SUV is a 60.48kWh battery pack that offers a range of 521 km. The electric motor can produce a maximum power of 200hp and 310Nm peak torque. The SUV can go from 0-100kmph in just 7.3 seconds. Using an 80kW DC fast charger, the battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes. A Type 2 AC charger takes 10 hours to fully replenish the battery.

Buyers can avail promotional offers that include three years of unlimited 4G data, a 6-year roadside assistance package, and 6 free maintenance services. The SUV will be made available in BYD dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, and other locations in South India. Upon launch, BYD Atto 3 will rival MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona EV, and Tata Nexon EV Max.
