Tata Motors launched today its all-new Tata Nexon EV Max in India. The news comes just after the Indian multinational auto giant introduced two of its brand-new concept cars, the Tata Curvv and the Tata Avinya recently. The brand now expands its foothold in the country’s EV market by offering the new Nexon EV Max as an option to those customers who are looking for a longer intercity travel ride.
According to Tata Motors, the company has pioneered the EV segment with more than 25,000 EVs running on the Indian roads since its inception into the industry in 2020. Taking the majority share out of these is the Tata Nexon EV, with over 19,000 units. The brand also reports an overall commanding market share of 87% in FY’22. The all-new Tata Nexon EV Max will be seen locking horns with MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric in India.

Complementing the striking exteriors of the new Tata Nexon EV Max are its modernized interiors. It gets a revamped centre console, a jewelled control knob with an active mode display, all-new Makarana beige interiors, leatherette seats with ventilation for the front passengers, wireless smartphone charging and auto-dimming IRVM. It features 3 driving modes, namely Eco, City and Sport. Its ZConnect 2.0 connected car tech gets upgraded with eight new features while the ZConnect app offers 48 connected car features.
The add-on feature list of the new Nexon EV Max covers a smartwatch integration, auto/manual DTC check, setting charging limits, monthly vehicle reports and driving analytics. A Multi-Mode Regen feature has also been introduced in the vehicle which helps the passengers easily adjust the level of regenerative braking through switches on the floor console. On the front of safety, the SUV comes equipped with ADAS features like cruise control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, electronic parking brake with auto vehicle hold and all 4-disc brakes.
Coming to its mechanical specs, the Nexon EV Max is powered by a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which offers a 33% higher battery capacity. It delivers an ARAI certified range of 437 km (under standard testing conditions), ensuring uninterrupted inter-city travel. It produces 105 kW (143 PS) of power and delivers an instant torque of 250 Nm. The vehicle gets accelerated from 0 to 100 sprint times in a claimed under 9 secs.

The Tata Nexon EV Max is offered in XZ+ and XZ+ Lux variants, both of which are available with 3.3kW and 7.2kW AC fast charger options, making 4 trim options in total. It supports a faster charging time of 0 to 80% in 56 mins from any 50 kW DC fast charger. The SUV will be offered in 3 exciting colours: Intensi-Teal (exclusive to the Nexon EV MAX), Daytona Grey and Pristine White. A dual-tone theme will be offered as a standard across the range.

The Tata Nexon EV Max price in India starts from Rs 17.74 lakhs (ex-showroom, all-India) and goes up to Rs 19.24 lakhs for its highest trim model.
