2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Launched Today: Features, Variants and Prices Revealed

MG Motors India launched today the facelift of its electric car model, the ZS EV in India. One of the most mind-blowing features that the all-new 2022 MG ZS EV facelift comes with is its digital Bluetooth key, through which it can be locked, unlocked, started or driven. Out of its two offered variants Excite and Exclusive, the former is scheduled to go for sale in the Indian markets around July 2022 while the latter will be available starting from today, 7th March itself. 

MG Motors also claimed in the launch that it became the first passenger car company to adopt wind-solar hybrid energy at their Halol plant in Gujarat. It was also stated that the brand has partnered with the top global players to source the battery and components of its EV. In the area of battery lifecycle management, it has partnered with many global and Indian companies such as Attero, Umicore and TES-AMM India for sustainable battery recycling, and Exicom Tele-Systems and Tata Power for the second life use of EV batteries. It aims to continue expanding its partnerships to grow the charging infrastructure of the all-new 2022 MG ZS EV ahead as well.

The 2022 MG ZS EV facelift, claimed as India’s first pure Internet electric SUV, comes with a completely new and refreshing look, starting right from its newly designed front EV grille. It sports its I7-inch Tomahawk Hub design alloy wheels on-board, full LED hawk-eyed headlamps and LED tail lamps. The all-new ZS EV will now come with a 50.3kWh advanced technology battery, the largest in its segment with an advanced IP69K rating for the battery. This 50.3kWh battery is said to deliver a range of 461km in a single charge. To add to the thrill, the new ZS EV is powered by a compelling 176 IPS 8-layer hairpin motor and accelerates from 0 to 100 in 8.5 seconds.

Speaking of its interiors, the all-new ZS EV comes with a fully digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch embedded LCD screen and a 10.1 inch HD touchscreen infotainment system. A special focus has been given to the rear seat comfort package, which includes a rear centre headrest, rear seat armrest with a cup holder and rear ac vents. The new ZS EV facelift will also be seen sporting a sunroof as well as providing auto AC with PM 2.5 filter for purified air cooling and portable charging cable that comes with it. 

The premium safety features that the 2022 MG ZS EV provides its occupants include 6 airbags, lane change assist, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera, hill descent control, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and much more.

The all-new electric SUV comes with iSmart car tech which provides 75+ connected car features. What is said to be its ‘wow’ feature is its digital Bluetooth key. You can lock, unlock, start and drive with a digital key activate via phone with Bluetooth technology. It can be charged via 5 means, namely through an onboard charging cable, AC fast charger, DC superfast chargers at multiple MG dealerships, via public charging networks as well as roadside assistance. 

The price of the all-new 2022 MG ZS EV starts at Rs 21.99lakhs for its Excite variant, which is said to be available in the Indian markets from July 2022. The price of its Exclusive variant is Rs 25.88lakhs, which will be available starting from today, 7th March 2022.
